…Significant weather advisory for 40 mph winds and heavy rainfall in Troup…Paulding…Meriwether…Carroll…Cobb… Coweta…Douglas…Fayette…Harris…Henry and Fulton counties until 1015 PM EDT…

At 927 PM EDT…National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms that extended from near Yorkville to about 5 miles east of Baughs Crossroads…and moving northeast at 30 mph.

Rainfall amounts between 1 to 2 inches can be expected across parts of Troup…Paulding…Meriwether…Carroll…Cobb… Coweta… Douglas… Fayette…Harris…Henry and Fulton counties. Drivers should use caution as intense rainfall will reduce visibilities. Ponding of water on roadways is also likely.

Flash Flood Watch

…Flash Flood Watch in effect through Thursday morning…

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has expanded the

* north Georgia and portions of central Georgia

* through Thursday morning

* a slow moving area of heavy rain will move across the watch area tonight into early Thursday.

* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches can be expected with isolated higher amounts possible. There is potential for heavy showers and thunderstorms to train over the area allowing for heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
