Severe Weather Statement

Via Paulding County Sheriff’s Office:

A spring-like storm system approaching our area will cause showers and storms to develop this afternoon. We could see large hail up to golf ball size as well as damaging winds. An isolated tornado is also possible. Keep on top of this rapidly changing weather event and please share with your friends!

The severe storm threat will begin around 3 PM and last until 8 PM. Primary hazards will be damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes.

A WIND ADVISORY has been issued for North Georgia that will remain in effect until 7 PM. Winds 15-25 MPH are expected with gusts to 40 MPH possible at times.


Small trees in saturated soils may be toppled. Driving – especially in high profile vehicles will become hazardous. Use extra caution driving! If you have outside activities scheduled this afternoon/evening pay close attention to rapidly changing weather conditions and seek adequate shelter if thunder and/or lightning occurs. Monitor local media and/or NOAA Weather Radio for further statements.
