… Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday morning…
The Flood Watch continues for
* north and portions of central Georgia.
* Through 7 am Monday morning
* periods of moderate to heavy rain over the watch area today will
continue to cause significant rises on creeks and rivers…
resulting in minor flooding for many areas. A few locations
already at… near or expected to reach flood levels are…
lookout creek… coahulla creek… and Conasauga river in
northwest Georgia… and Big Creek… Suwanee Creek and
Allatoona creek around the Atlanta Metro area.
* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches have already occurred across
north and parts of central Georgia through mid Sunday morning
and an additional 1 to 3 inches is possible through the
afternoon and evening as showers and thunderstorms continue to
train across the watch area.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current rainfall forecasts. Isolated flash flood is also possible
as convection trains over the same areas.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
