The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for all of North Georgia including Paulding County and Metro Atlanta. The watch will remain in effect until 9PM this evening.
The watch was issued due to an area of low pressure approaching the area that is expected to develop severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
Special caution is made regarding the possibility of isolated tornadoes because should one develop it will likely be wrapped in rain and unable to be seen. Stay updated to rapidly changing weather conditions and monitor local media outlets for possible warnings and statements.
A Tornado Watch means that severe storms are expected for the region and conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes. At this time monitor NOAA weather radio and local media for the latest information on this developing weather situation.
